I take pictures of just about everything!  I love photographing babies, children, teens, families, and my son’s sporting events. Prior to becoming a photographer, I was a classroom teacher for 13 years.  I have held teaching licenses and have taught grades 5-12 in Maryland, Ohio, Missouri, Utah, and Colorado.  I currently hold a Master Teacher Certificate in the state of Colorado and have a B.A. in English and an M.Ed.  I earned my National Board Teaching Certificate in 2002. I have been married to Dr. Shay Bess for 26 years and together we have one incredible son, Rowan. After Rowan was born, I resigned from teaching and decided to direct my creative energy toward raising him, managing my home, buying and selling real estate, spending time with my family, volunteering in my community and documenting life in photos.  I am passionate about living a joyful and fulfilled life and I try my best to capture most of it in my photographs.
